Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA)
As a regulatory requirement, all investors are required to complete the Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) to trade CFDs. The different methods to achieve a pass in CKA can be found in the CKA form.
You may declare your CKA status through the following methods:
1. After your CFD account is opened, declare online by logging into POEMS 2.0 > Acct Mgmt > Stocks > Online Forms > CAR & CKA Form
2. Download the CKA form here, complete the form and email it cfd@phillip.com.sg.
If you do not meet any of the CKA criteria, you may sit for the “Contract for Differences” e-Learning module jointly developed by the Association of Banks in Singapore and Securities Association of Singapore. Click below to learn more.
Acknowledgement of Risk Fact Sheet for CFDs
In accordance to new regulations by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), all investors who wish to continue trading Contracts For Differences (CFDs) from 8 October 2019 onwards, will be required to acknowledge the Risk Fact Sheet provided by Phillip Securities Pte Ltd (PSPL).
You can acknowledge the Risk Fact Sheet online through POEMS 2.0 by following the steps below:
1. Login to POEMS 2.0
2. Go to Acct Mgmt > CFD > RFS & RDS
3. Read through and acknowledge at the bottom of the page
For joint account holders, both account holders will be required to acknowledge the physical copy of the Risk Fact Sheet separately and email the scanned copy to cfd@phillip.com.sg. Please indicate your joint account number on the top right corner. The Risk Fact Sheet can be downloaded here.

How can I open an account if I am residing overseas?
For investors residing overseas, it is recommended to open an investment account with Phillip Securities. In accordance with the SGX-ST rules all account applications that are remotely signed require the endorsement by a Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths. A photocopy of your passport, declaration by the concerned Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths and the deposit for the account should be submitted together with your application form for an investment account.
Do I need a Central Depository Account or linkage to trade CFDs?
No, you do not need a Central Depository Account or linkage to trade with Phillip CFD.
How long does it take to open a Phillip CFD account?
For existing Phillip Securities customers, opt-in for CFD trading facilities will be ready in 1 working day. For new customers, online account opening will be within the same day given that all requirements are met.
How do I know if my CFD application is approved?
You will be informed by email when your Phillip CFD account is activated. Your trading representative will also be informed. In addition, you will be granted full access to the CFD trading page on your platform as compared to the partial access before activation.
Is there any maintenance fee for the Phillip CFD account?
There is NO maintenance fee or administrative fee for the Phillip CFD account.
Can I have more than one CFD account?
Yes, you can have more than one CFD account with either the same or different trading representatives. However, do take note that a physical application form is required when opening more than one CFD account with the same trading representative
